Attention Bilt Rewards cardholders! Today is the day to bring your new Bilt 2.0 cards to life. If you applied for the Bilt Palladium, Bilt Obsidian, or Bilt Blue cards by February 1st, you should have your shiny new card in hand. And for those who haven't applied yet, now is your chance! But here's where it gets controversial... February 1st was the last opportunity for existing Bilt Mastercard holders to seamlessly transfer to one of these new cards. So, if you're reading this and haven't taken action, your Bilt Mastercard is no longer active as of February 6th.
Let's get your new card activated and set up! First, a quick reminder: the information provided here has been independently collected by The Points Guy, and the card details have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
If you have your new card, it's time to start earning those points! But first, you need to activate it. Here's a step-by-step guide to setting up your Bilt 2.0 card account:
Open your Bilt Rewards app or scan the QR code that came with your card. Scanning the QR code will take you to the activation landing page.
If you're using the app, tap "Activate card" in the "Wallet" tab. If you haven't confirmed your bank account for rent and mortgage payments, you'll do that now. Remember, with Bilt 2.0, your housing payments will be directly debited from your linked bank account via Automated Clearing House (ACH). It's a change from the previous system, where payments were made against your credit limit.

Alternatively, you can choose to enter the CVC code instead.
After following these steps, you'll see a verification screen while your card details are checked. It should only take a few seconds, and then your card will be officially activated! You'll see a confirmation message and receive an email to confirm.
Once activated, Bilt will guide you to add the card to your Apple Wallet. Some current cardholders transitioning to the new card experienced a delay in adding their card to Apple Pay, but new cardholders had no issues.
After setting up your digital wallet, it's time to choose your housing rewards structure. You can opt for 4% Bilt Cash on all purchases or earn up to 1.25 points per dollar spent on rent or mortgage, depending on your non-housing spending. You can always change this selection later.
To help you decide, check out our guide on earning rewards for housing purchases. If you're rushing to spend a lot on the card to maximize your welcome offer, "Flexible Bilt Cash" might be a good starting point.
And there you have it! Your new card is activated and ready for purchases. You'll see your welcome offer Bilt Cash in your account upon activation, and you can start redeeming it right away. Some redemption options will become available in March, but there are immediate options too.
TPG has already tested out Bilt Cash redemption by claiming a $10 Walgreens credit. It appeared as a gift card in the app within minutes, ready for use. You can find it by going to the Rewards button, clicking "Everyday rewards," then "Gift cards," and finally, "Your gift cards."
Now, let's address some frequently asked questions:
When will I receive TPG's exclusive Bilt offer? The exclusive offer for eligible Bilt Palladium, Bilt Obsidian, and Bilt Blue cardholders begins today, February 7th. It was available for a limited time to those who applied through TPG's link during the qualifying period (January 14th at noon EST to January 15th at noon EST). The offer provides 5 Bilt points per dollar spent on all eligible purchases for the first five days of card membership (up to 50,000 points). The timeframe for this offer runs from today until February 12th. If your transactions aren't earning the expected points, contact Bilt Support.
When will I earn my Bilt card's welcome offer? This depends on the card you chose:
- Bilt Palladium Card: Earn 50,000 Bilt points and Gold status after spending $4,000 on everyday purchases in the first three months. Plus, get $300 Bilt Cash upon approval.
- Bilt Obsidian Card: Receive $200 Bilt Cash upon approval.
- Bilt Blue Card: Receive $100 Bilt Cash upon approval.
If you selected the Bilt Palladium, your three-month period to meet the spending requirement starts today, February 7th. The Bilt Cash portion of these offers is available immediately upon activation, but remember, only $100 of Bilt Cash rolls over each year.
